i realize this is old news...but.. i was unaware of this at the time.
I set a record for diving at Western Illinois University.
I was unaware of this, but I have broke into the top 10 performances for 1 meter, 11 dive record holders.
I am number 10 on the list.... which is a HUGE accomplishment to me.
I mean.... after one year of diving, having NO experiance... i've been able to get on the top 10 list of all time there.
I'm stoked.
And to think, next year, it's only gonna get improved upon.
Man.... sorry i'm just excited.

to see it.

I'll explain happily i might add...
There are 5 "types" of dives...
fronts *like a front dive (swan dive)*
reverses *gainer's? ... or like a backflip on a motorcycle... it's a backflip going forward*
inwards *standin at the end of the board, facing the board, and diving toward the board*
backs *standing at the end of the board, and diving away from the board*
and twisters *anything with a twist*
.
.
Now to compete in most meets (dual meets) you just need a 6 dive list... one from each category, and then you double up in whatever category you want, for both boards (1m and 3m)... for example.. my 6 dive list on 3m would be...
1.front 2 1/2 pike position
2.front 3 1/2 tuck position
3.reverse 1 1/2 tuck position
4.back 2 1/2 tuck
5.inward 2 1/2 tuck
6.forward 1 1/2 with 1 twist
.
.
But in bigger competitions.... like when there's 3 or more teams at a meet, you have to have an 11 dive list...
so basically you have to double up in every category, and triple up in one category..
for example, my 11 dive list on 3m would look something like this...
1.front 1 1/2 pike
2.front 2 1/2 pike
3.front 3 1/2 tuck
4.reverse dive
5.reverse 1/2 tuck
6.back dive
7.back 2 1/2 tuck
8.inward 1 1/2 pike
9.inward 2 1/2 tuck
10.front 1 1/2 w/ 1 twist
11.back 1 1/2 w/ 1/2 twist
.
.
But that's my 3m list..... it has all my big scoring dives in there... *the ones with HIGH degrees of difficulty*
my 1m board list is much simpler... doesn't have hardly any high DD dives...
which is why i'm suprised I made the top 10... especially on 1 m.
a GOOD diver on one meter will have reverse 2 1/2's, back 2 1/2's, inward 2 1/2's... front 2 1/2 in PIKE position...
I dont have any of those on 1m.
which is why I was suprised... cuz all i have is 1 1/2's for the most part on 1m. except for my front 2 1/2....
but... next year, i'll have a back 2 1/2 probably, and a front 2 1/2 pike I hope.. so I should be able to up my score on that top 10, and get myself added to some other top 10s
